Weekday-ish

Quite a good week to really begin off my holidays after the days of that competition. Became a computer technician for a day (Wednesday) to help my mum "clean" all the computers, and update all their softwares. Had to remove all installation of the Norton Antivirus, and replace them with this Panda Software. From the looks of the interface, I must say I am pretty impressed by this antivirus program. It also offers free software updates to their current clients, meaning from Panda Software 2006 to 2007 for no extra fees! This is unlike the more reputable Norton Antivirus, which everything must pay. Anyhoo, it took me the day to do all the stuffs. One of the computers was such a headache, thanks to the crapped-up Internet Explorer. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the IE, but to no avail. So what I did was simply to an alternative internet explorer "Firefox". Too bad I can't block the content using that to prevent the staffs from surfing those *ah-hem* websites.

Yesterday, I went to the airport two times! =.=" We thought we were supposed to fetch my grandma (who went on a 10 days trip at the Silk Road) at 8pm or so, from the teletext. But in the end, we couldn't see her anyway at Belt 22 in Terminal 1. So we refered to this stupid arrival monitor, and thought it was 9.30pm. My mum could only recalled that the plane number starts with "C", and don't know where it is even coming from! Diaoz. With one hour to burn, we went to Swensens for dinner first where we seemed to be the only dudes having dinner at that time. Really like how they managed to turn Terminal 2 into such a grand hall with the touch of "wood" pillars, as compared to the Thailand's new Suvarnabhumi airport that opened yesterday. I find that their airport is too steely from the photos. Maybe they are trying to portray their airport as one of the most futuristic one ba. Back to my story, we went back to that stupid belt at 9.30pm and still couldn't find her! Looking at that darn board again, apparently there's another flight from Guangzhou at 11.40pm. In the end, we just went home first lor. If not, stay there don't know do what. Also, we had to buy my grandpa's dinner, who would be starving by the the time we actually brought grandma home. Ahahaa... When I reached the airport again this time with my dad, another "C" flight popped up but luckily at around the same time. Hence, we spilt up and try to see who gets the grandma (sounds like a game hur)! Dad won and that quickly ends the chapter for that day. Hahahha.. My eyes were literally closed, while talking to my grandma on the car.. END!

"Dancing In The Moonlight" by Toploader

We get it on most every night
When that moon is big and bright
Its a supernatural delight
Everybodys dancing in the moonlight

Everybody here is out of sight
They dont bark and they dont bite
They keep things loose they keep it tight
Everybodys dancing in the moonlight

Dancing in the moonlight
Everybodys feeling warm and bright
Its such a fine and natural sight
Everybodys dancing in the moonlight

We like our fun and we never fight
You cant dance and stay uptight
Its a supernatural delight
Everybody was dancing in the moonlight

Dancing in the moonlight
Everybodys feeling warm and bright
Its such a fine and natural sight
Everybodys dancing in the moonlight

We get it on most every night
And when that moon is big and bright
Its a supernatural delight
Everybodys dancing in the moonlight

Dancing in the moonlight
Everybodys feeling warm and bright
Its such a fine and natural sight
Everybodys dancing in the moonlight

Team MoC!

Let's just make do with this picture first. Don't feel like adding more images here yet. What's more it's darn late already. Should be sleeping now. The image above is a picture of team Mark of Creativity (MoC) taken after the entire presentation while we await for the results. Shaun pretty much started the trend of taking a picture with that Synergy signboard thing. Well.. You can say that Shaun is very experienced and innovative with these, when it comes to taking photos. Ahahha..

We're the Champions...

FIRST PRIZE of Cash Award for Mark of Creativity!
(And consolation prize for Innovation Award)
Group Members: Shaun, Trixie, Xiaoping, Yongyi & Me!

Our presentation faired pretty good today, as compared to all the other rehearsals we did. After weeks of drillings, the competition is finally over. The secret to our success of the presentation is the "prototype" we did below. LOL! We have gotten this idea from Mr. Helbert Toh (same surname!), whereby he suggested we use something (shampoo bottle) to portray how small our product is. Since our primary market customer is the SAF, we decided to bring along the army pants and stuffed our product into the pocket. Just like what Steve Jobs when he revealed the iPod Nano from his pants.

But nehh.. Don't think this is the main reason we have won. I just loved that idea. Anyway, we should have gotten the business school lecturers earlier to assist us. Anyhoo, we did it. At the end of our presentation, there was 2 industry players who asked for our powerpoint slides! One of which is from ST Kinetics. Imagine the post-competition royalties we would get if they actually commercialise our business plan... Thinking waayyyy too much ba. Satisfied with what we are awarded. =)

Movie was a good way to relax ourselves after all the hard work has paid off. "John Tucker Must Die" is a pretty good laugh-able movie I guess, though the ending is kinda not really that nice. But that's my own opinion alrighty. The birthday party in the show is like so damn cool. But it's sort of weird that all the attention is on you. I guess that's the main purpose ba. For popular kidos. And yes, tongs can give u extra support for your ballz to do excellent basketball shots. Whahaha.. Quite gross when they show all the fat people wearing them while picking up something that has dropped on the floor. Oh yar, before the movie, we saw Abigail doing his her dance moves on some sort of event. It was retarded. Who would in the right mind dance like a bafoon! Zzz...

Had dinner with my parents and sister at Japanese restuarant "Kuriya" at Raffles City. This is no usual restuarant. It was classy, unlike the usual Jap ones - Sakae Sushi, Genki Sushi, Sushi Tei, Yaki Yuki etc. Of course, the bill comes back a bit steep too.

Drank their famous recommended Soba Tea, which none of us really appreciated it. LOL! It really does taste like the sesame seeds. 1 pot of this can serve 2 persons. Should have just bought the normal green tea. Blah.

And this is what I ate. Soba set or some sort. Forgot the name. Quite filling, with quite a number of small dishes. It comes with Coffee/Tea and Dessert as well. The dessert was ice-cream and 2 balls of watermelon (Ahahaa...).

The food there is okay lar. If want to save money, can just go those normal restuarants. This place is suitable for special occasions only ba. Perfect place to bring a date to. Trust me on this. Peace out!

Mentally Shagged.

Had to wake up like 7am just for the dang Synergy meeting. In the end, I just kinda sat there doing nothing much till lunch time. Quite dumb that I come so early for this rehearsal. Somemore I was wearing the formal clothings from top to bottom, because I was simply too lazy to carry all those stuffs. In the end, the teachers didn't really cared much about it. Zzz.. Thanks to the pair of black low socks, now I got blisters behind my feet. The back of the shoes kept on rubbing my skin when I was coming to school. Luckily, Trixie got some plasters for me to use. If not, I will be putting tissue paper there liao. LOL! Anyway, this is the first time I tio this. Usually I see women do that one. Can't believe it's now me who needs plaster for this. Blah. Stayed in school from 9am to 5pm. By the time I got home, I became a living dead, yearning for a cozy air-conditioned bedroom. Whew. And I really like the word "irri-TAY-ting". Next time if go primary school teach, can make use of Mr. Tay as an example to express the full understanding of that word.

Did a quick animation for the stupid prototype diagram to show water coming in and out. Nice anot ar? Don't steal the image ar! If not, I chop you into million pieces. It's our idea. Heh. Maybe can really make money out of this. LOL!

"Stay With You" by Goo Goo Dolls

These streets
Turn me inside out
Everything shines
But leaves me empty still
And I'll, burn this lonely house down
If you run with me
If you run with me

I'll stay with you
The walls will fall before we do
Take my hand now
We'll run forever
I can feel the storm inside you
I'll stay with you

Fooled by my own desires
I twist my fate
Just to feel you
But you, turn me toward the light
And you're one with me
Will you run with me?

I'll stay with you
The walls will fall before we do
Take my hand now
We'll run forever
I can feel the storm inside you
I'll stay with you

Now come in from this storm
I taste you sweet and warm
Take what you need
Take what you need
From me

Wake up this world
Wake up tonight
And run to me
Run to me now

I'll stay with you
The walls will fall before we do
Take my hand now
We'll run forever
I can feel the storm inside you
I'll stay with you

Class outing?

Don't feel like blogging somehow today, so I'll try to summarise what happened on Tuesday. The class outing was alright I guess even though it's a very very small group - Su Hua, Wei Ming, Shahrez, Soo Chin, Pei Shan and I. A couple of people backed out the last minute.. Oh well.. But it was still a fun day! Actually, a small group is better than a big group hanging out I think. Anyway, don't think I would be organising any big class outing liao. Once bitten, twice shy. Although this quote don't really make sense with this now, but what the heck! Small groups still okay I guess, if you want me to organise. Don't like the feeling of receiving SMS-es saying they are not free and their excuses etc. The two photos below tells it all. Pai-seh! My hand was shaking when I took all the photos. LOL!

Checked out the movie schedule first at Shaw House, and bought the "Littleman" tickets. Weekday watch very cheap as to weekend - $7. Anyhoo, we went to Takashimaya for dinner at Breeks/Dingo. 2 scoops of mashed potato that comes along with my set was so damn filling. I think that's what made me full, rather than the melted patty itself. Ahaha.. Had a great dinner then, which made me felt that we are bonded in a way. Chat here and there. Blahh blahh blahh. Oh yes, Shahrez caught his eyes on this waitress (forcefully by us) sia. So we gave him the golden opportunity to talk to her when ordering the food. LOL!

After this, we went to look for Wang Liang who was still working then. Thought he was one of those promoters. In the end, he was the counter dude. Sheeze, I thought we could have taken some mooncakes home that day. Ahahahaha... After this, it was simply the movie and that was it. Wang Liang called us during the movie itself, so yea.. he went home lor. Blah! Too bad the others didn't want a late late night movie, since some will be busy the next morning. Next time I guess. And I still want to watch "The Devil Wears Prada"! Sheeze. Who wanna join me? Hahaha..

Weekend-ed

Not again - there goes another weekend. It's another family day as usual for Saturday. Spent half the day with my dad and brother practising golf at Orchid Country Club till it rained. Oh yes, we were sort of lucky to find a card that values 240 golf balls. So yea.. We used them all up. In total, we fired like 550 balls into the damn field. Dead tired you can say after that. Practise makes perfect alright. And I'm sure doing better with my shots, when using iron. Need to try doing those range shots. Later in the day, we went to Harbourfront with the rest of the family for dinner, and shopping at the "Big" megastore, that apparently has lots of discount - but none for monitors (zzz). But who cares? I myself don't really like the idea to purchase a monitor from there in the first place. Prefers Sim Lim Square. Rock on!

As for earlier today, my mum and I went to the Sim Lim area to grab-and-go the Samsung monitor I wanted. However, we took a turn to the Fu Lu Shou complex first instead to shop for some Feng Shui crystal items my mum wanted to place in her office. To my surprise, we spent a couple of hours in a particular shop - this sales auntie really good at selling the product I tell you. In the end, my mum bought 3 crystal thingies while my uncle (who happen to pop-by) bought 2 other items. Total bill: $500 plus. Shocking eh? I was like whinning all the way at her, when started saying yes to those stupid items. Then, the auntie said it was paying small sum for a bigger payout or something like that. Later at night, my dad ringed my mum when we were on the way back home that he had won the third place for 4D lottery - $2.5K. I was like surprised! So damn true. Fengshui can really turn things around. Now, I'm officially a Fengshui Master after hearing all those junkies about wealth position of the house etc. Ahahah..

I finally gotten my new 19" monitor - Samsung SyncMaster 931BF! WOOT! So slim.. so clear.. so fast... so nice.. Response time is 2ms leh! Don't play play with this. Now, my Pooh Bear is sitting on top of my "kaboomed" CRT monitor. Need to find a way to get rid of it now. Can't simply throw it into the normal waste bin, since it contains toxic substances inside. I must see if the Garanguni man will take this junkie anot. Also, my monitor comes with a free Altec Lansing speaker, which can finally replace my unknown brand speaker. All I wish now is to try to persuade my mum to upgrade the computer next year when Windows Vista is out. Woooosh...

Chalet!

Mega-Flame! Not sure whether they are playing the Pokemon game or the soccer one.. Shahrez's gang really know how to tahan playing the PS2 till late at night.

The pussy cat that came bothering some of our people, especially Alex - he tried to shoo them away. But what he didn't know is that people like Shahrez are feeding them chicken wings! LOL!

Stingray no more. God bless Steve's family. Revenge!

So cheesy. And man, this phone camera sucks.

Yuan Long the satay guy. Yep, that's the pit that took us long to set-up.

What do you expect? 16 people share 2 rooms ma.

But this two really should have think twice before picking a place to sleep.

"Just the Way I'm Feeling" by Feeder

Love in, love out, find the feeling
Scream in, scream out, time for healing
You feel the moments gone too soon,
You're watching clouds come over you.

Torn in two,
You close your eyes for some place new,
Torn in two

[Chorus:]
And I feel it's going down,
Ten feet below the ground,
I'm waiting for your healing hand,
One touch could bring me round,
I feel we're going down,
Ten feet below the ground,
It's just the way I'm feeling

Glow in, burn out,
Lost the feeling
Bruise in, you bruise out,
Nurse the bleeding

Torn in two,
Each time we bruise

[Chorus]
Yeah yeah, it's just the way I'm feeling

Two different views,
As words confuse and break
I can't get out,
There's no way out of here,
I can't get clear.

Love in, love out
Find the feeling.

[Chorus]
Yeah, yeah, it's just the way I'm feeling.....

Giving it a chance...

I back from my class chalet! Wouldn't be able to post any pictures for now though, since my stupid desktop monitor has kaboomed. Next time ba. Kinda disappointed that Jeremy and Shaun didn't went for the chalet thing. Why so anti-social sia.. If you say our class not bonded enough for chalet, you didn't even gave it a chance to foster our friendship lor. Good to know that Zai Wei went for it after all. As for Shaun, he got the S2006.. Fine.. But you can still hop over at one night ma, just like Wei Lian like that. As for Gowri, I got no comments. Hahaha.. It's our class don't like her.. =/ On another issue, I really feel sad for Fadzly sia. Someone stolen some stuffs that worth over thousands plus or something like that from his workplace. Then tio police report. Then the stupid police keep saying things to him like "You steal one right?". What the hell lor. But I guess that's how the police pressurise people into telling the truth. But he was telling the truth ma. Just few words for you.. Don't be afraid, and just tell what exactly happen. And nothing will happen to you le. Cos they don't have any crap evidence that you "steal" or what. And of course, our class know you are innocent. All the best Fadzly!

And my results are out! Although I kinda studied last minute, I got piang lor till my sleep got disrupted.. And yep, I got a Z for my maths. Kinda *expected* cos I was kinda confident of my paper when the thing ended. As for UO1, the stupid unit conversion and incomplete question made me gotten a B+. But can lar. Was hoping for that already.. Luckily never get lower than that. The rest I have gotten A. So my gpa hop to 3.62. Really regret my last sem results for slacking wayyyy too much (thanks to long's maple), but oh well.. It's over.

Day 1:
Saw Pei Shan's cute pictures when she's young! Chubby chubby Pei Shan.. Took a picture of it, but the stupid glass reflection made it impossible to capture a good photo of it. Zzzz.. Next time go her house and cope that image of her. Ahahaha.. The BBQ night was kinda screwed up in the beginning. It started off with bad charcoal/firestarter. Took Alex quite a while to set it ablaze. Aahhaa.. Somemore we keep coping other ppl's fire and lighter. LOL! After that, the rain started pouring... Zzzz.. Then, we all no choice but to camp in the room first and see how. Luckily, the rain ended before Mr. Tang came over. We started bbqing and stuffs. So many stingray sia... lol. And there were a couple of cats around the place as well. Kinda contradict what the sign says no pets. After all the BBQ thang, this was when I started learning to play Mahjong from the pros.. Ahaha.. Yuan Long, Wang Liang, Su Hua and other peeps.. The rest leh play PS2. And Sharez was "mega-flaming" at night when people were trying to sleep. Luckily, his voice kinda went off after quite some time...

Day 2:
Breakfast at Mac, then a group of us went to steam bath, suana, "swimming" and jacuzzi. Then this cycle repeats again. lol. Steam bath can't see no nuts. For suana, crazy Alex started pouring water onto the stones thingy and made the entire thing too hot to tahan. Then jacuzzi, alex strikes again by peeing into the pool of water. =.="

Lunch at Food Court. Then, I kinda made my way to bed. LOL! The rest played soccer while I was asleep. Can't play that anyway, cos of my in-growth toenail. Heard from Su Hua that she last time went for the laser thingy to cut off half of the nail sia. *ouch* Better hope this toe gets recovers by the end of holiday. If not, I go cut liao. Zzz.. Dinner at Pizza Hut, and that was it I guess. We wanted to go Fishermen Village initially, but some peeps came back late. Then, abit too late to go there liao. Mahjong all the way after that again. Bleh.

Day 3:
Wake up. Pack up. Go home. Was sick when I came back home. Freakin' running nose.. And abit of feverish. Zzzz.. But it's all gone alright now.

Where's my Unagi and Dragon Roll?

This was taken last Saturday, after the so-called accident happen. We were starving and didn't know where to go. So yea.. We went to the Genki Sushi at Forum The Shopping Mall and stuff ourselves with food. This was on my sister's treat, since she just had a salary lately. Ahahaha.. Wanted to take the entire Unagi Kabayaki set and the Dragon Roll (with avocado and jumbo shrimp), but only realised that I have eaten all the main dish till I left the salad and the jelly thingy. All I can say is that the unagi here isn't the best. But the dragon roll is superb!

That's just NUTS!

My life is pretty much okay right now. Haven't really got time to blog lately somehow. And yes, there was this scary experience I had near Orchard when my sister was driving last Saturday. =.=" She just got her driving license you see.. My sister saw this carpark then make a sudden turn to it, without checking the incoming traffic. So there was this car heading towards us at a damn high speed was making a sudden brake. I was pretty freaked out when I saw the car right in front of me. Shutted my ass to the other side of the car lor. That was just how scary it was. Damn crazy lor! We could have met an accident, and I may be gone by then. Choi choi!

Had a freakin' bad day with her then. I was going to town to meet up with her and my grandma. But she just couldn't give proper directions where is parked her car sia. Tell her "is it here?". She just say "near there". It's like can't she just point out a prominant landmark! Had a quarrel with her on the car after that. Then, she used an excuse that driving is damn scary and that she had been told to drive off by Lee Hsein Long's bodyguard just before that, cos she parked near his residence. o.O Abit far-fetched eh.. Lame. Make me and my brother run her and there just to look for her. Anyway, it is after all these the freaky 'accident' happen.

Earlier today, I kinda went to Sim Lim and hunt for a new iPod cable (apparently it's this that have make my computer unable to detect my newly-repaired iPod), as well as a new monitor. Yes, my old CRT monitor has just exploded. Maybe not that exaggerated. But yea.. there's this weird smell tat comes out from it, with the screen blinking continuously. Zzzz.. But my parents is overseas right now lor. Then, my brother who have mum's supplementary credit card kinda hesitated here and there to use it. He keep saying we should go home and see which one is better. But they are all the same ma! So I managed to convince him to go buy after our dinner. But by then, most the stupid shops were closed. Irritating! Anyway, I am intending to buy 19" LCD monitor from Samsung ba. No difference anyway, Response time 5ms. But I don't really give a damn, cos my human reaction time ain't gonna detect the difference anyway between a 2 and 8ms. Ahaha.. So that's what I'll do this coming weekend!

Oh yes, I'll be going for a chalet today till wednesday. So yea, if you want to contact me about anything important, just send me a sms ba.

September 7, 2006

Synergise this...

I really can't stand the teachers at times. Tell us meet them in school at 9.30am, and in the end they are not even free to like say abit of shit or tell us what to do. In the end, I kinda just sit there doing nothing whilst listening to my music.

What's worse is that Mr. Lim suggested that we make a freakin' model as our prototype using cardboard! I was like completely turned-off. Who on earth will present a stupid kindergarten artpiece to the "potential investors" in NTU and expect them to visualise from it... =.=" And it's so gonna be one of those things that will be scrapped off eventually when they see the workpiece. I can imagine a filmsy, crappy and stupish-looking object being laughed at already. Hell NO with this idea.. If want, I would rather spend the time making an actual prototype. Zzz..

September 4, 2006

Bikin' It!

Can't feel a thing for both my legs... Keke.. Abit exaggerated. Me and my bro bike our way from Sengkang to Yio Chu Kang, where the apple authorised centre was. My stupid 3G iPod don't seem to be detected on any computer somehow - this means no update for my songs! Bleh.. Tried all the means to revive it through the useless apple online support, but to no avail. But it still does function normally as in listen to the music etc. This bug has plagued me since before the exams. Now that I got time to send it to repair.. so why not? =) Should be able to get back my iPod by the end of this week, just in time for my upcoming class chalet..

Thanks to my brother we took a pretty long way there, which is kind of irritating. SO many newbies learning how to drive lor! When I was on the road, I really scared that one of them might anyhow accelerate and crash me to death. LOL! Especially the car that was like jerking when it was turning right. =.=" Then we parked our bicylcles at the wrong place lar! There's those lots especially for the bicycles, and we simply parked ours on the motobikes area.. LOL! Didn't realised that till we came back. No wonder the security guard was like staring at us when we were parking it.

Due to presence of a smart ruben, we headed back home through a much shorter route although got the up-and-down hill, which is pretty irritating. On our way back, we took a u-turn to Jalan Kayu for some fantastic meal worth every penny I spent on it. 1 Roti-john, 1 cheese prata, 1 egg prata, 2 teh-cino, 1 mutton curry for just $12.90! So damn full lar.. The mutton curry is kinda expensive though, 4 bucks for it. Zzzz.. Should have just make do with their plain chicken curry.. Just when we are about to leave the shop, the rain poured.. Zzzz... Then no choice but to camp inside the shop lor, with our bicycles in there too. But this stupid muthu come say they don't allow bicycles to be parked inside.. As if they are blocking like that lor! Kaobei... So we just took off and camp on the other shops instead till the rain was much "smaller". Then after that took a route under the LRT line for shelter all the way back home. Another fun and perfect day!

On another issue, one of our favourite icon "Crocrodile Hunter" has died due to a stingray killing. Penetrate through his heart I think.. Yooouch.. He should really rethink all of his risky moves he have all his life in heaven man. How can he just leave his wife and child like that... Haiz. Life's precious indeed...

Forward the following to everyone on your MSN (if you're are bored especially)!

If you haven't heard already, Steve Irwin (aka Crocrodile Hunter) died today on the 4th of September on the Barrier Reef, near Cairns. As a sign of respect for the Australian cultural icon, place a turtle (tu) in front of your msn name, and forward this to everyone you know.

Golf-ing It...

The last 2 episodes of "Life As We Know It" (unaired in US) has finally been shown on Star World. It's really a pity to see how the season actually ended, without an actualy finish due to the last few scripts not being made into production. Debra goes away with her new-found dad, while the guys sold their freakin' car to pay up to all the damages and stuffs. Lesson to learn: Don't be too eager in buying a thing. Always think ahead. Owning a car is such a huge responsibilty. You have to take into consideration the weekly fuel bills, the maintenance cost, insurance, any accident costs etc. Blah. Sucks eh? Anyway, my brother was like asking me to join him and take the theory test for driving. But I was like thinking, "That means I have to do the practical within 2 years frame!" However, I simply don't have the time for such practical lessons. Oh well.. I think I'll do my thing after I come out from the army. It's also abit what to get my parents to pay for my driving license..

Anyway! Earlier today, I went out with my mum and brother for a golf-ranging trip at Marina Bay Golf Course. You know the newly built thingy near Marina Bay.. Anyway, the driving range is kinda crappy. So damn concrete lar. Then the seats are shared by 2 thingies. Zzz.. What's more the blazing heat from the sun shines directly at the seats. "Hot seats" eh. Started off pretty sucky as usual. But yea, I get pretty good after getting a hang of it. From there, I can see 9-hole golf course (supposedly 18 hole, but not yet finished) which is kinda barren without any trees in sight. I was like "No freakin' shelter? Diaoz..". Hahaha.. Would rather go Malaysia and play golf or somewhere else. Hahaha.. Not so great after all.

Dinner was at Siglap Road, eating the TV-recommended claypot rice thingy. Like the seaweed toufu, but not really the prawn with wasbi-mayo ($18 bucks lor for 6 pieces! siao sia...) and the chicken. Their claypot is so-so lar. That's all I can say. It was just on-the-dot for my tummy tank. Ahaha.. That's what happen for today.. Cheeze out!
