Time.

Time waits no man. Time heals everything. Time to stand up. Time to grow up. Time to let go. Time.
Just a random quote below from Grey's Anatomy Season 3! Do watch it on channel 5 every Wednesday 10.30pm, and you'll get why I liked it so darn bloody much. And no.. Mediacorp didn't paid me to say that. Ahahha..

Running out of time. I have tons of things to finish up and I'm nowhere near the finishing line. My main HPLC experiment has yet to chunk out conclusive results for me to identify the darn ice-cream peaks on the chromatogram. Bleh. Don't wanna talk about my MP further on - already spent more than half a day on it liao. I'll do a real quick flashback of what I did for the past weeks.

Friday, 17th August
Went to Marina Square's "garden terrace" (you know the area with a whole flight of steps?) to catch fireworks with Pei Shan and Su Hua. It was such a great view to watch the fireworks given its distance from the floating platform. Photos might be coming up later.. Anyway, I spotted a nice place to watch the fireworks liao.. the outside seats for the MS kopitiam - an unblock sight for the fireworks similar to those hotel rooms one I believe, but only cost you a cup of kopi wor! Ahahha..

Caught up with Wei Ming and his (& SH's) two other gal-friends. And yes, the girl who's attached is chio, but too bad she's kinda short still. As for the other one, not my taste lar. Ahahha.. Anyhoo, we then pretty much just laid around talking nonsense at that area while munching on the Azabu Sabo ice-cream we bought. Not bad I would say, but would prefer to seat inside and enjoy their unique desserts instead. This is the one that I always wanted to try out lar - but no chance. Ahahaha... The day just ended to catch the last few trains lor.

Saturday, 18th August & Sunday, 19th August
Campus discussion! Ahahaaha.. There was initially a class plan to wreck some havoc at the MS first lar. But somehow it broke apart with each and everyone went for their own thing. So in the end, I had to call it off lor. Sorry Kaijie for making you wait for us. Truly sorry man. In the end, I went with Gowri and Fazlinah along with her classmates to TM to makan at the foodcourt. Rather interesting how I get along pretty well with them as well. In the end, Gowri, Leo and I went to catch Rush Hour 3 movie after it showed for 10-15mins already at Century. Quite funny lar, but it took us quite some time inside before we understood what the heck was it all about and who are the characters. Bleh! McFlurry fiesta later on at TM and had a good time chatting here and there about our course people - gossips basically. AHhaha...

After which, my parents fetched me from there and we went to Raffles Place to wait for our darling sister who was joining in the stupid Straits Times event. ZZzz.. They actually asked people to boogie on the stage, after showing some lame moves. Then, this PCK-wannabe dude came on and started doing his thing. Eww lar! They even hired this local magician to perform some sort of stunt whereby he will teleport from one of the building's top floor to the bottom box or something like that. Buay tahan until I rushed my family to go dinner at the foodcourt liao. If not, may miss the fireworks lor. This time we were watching at the area near the Merlion, but because the area we were standing were quite low-lying it wasn't that good as compared to the day before. But overall, it's sitll good lar. Ahhaha..

Before I knew, I was lying on my bed and realised that I still have a pool mania with Shuan, Jeremy and Soochin at Parkway Parade. Was so damn shagged lar. Then, chio my way to take the last bus 27 to Changi Airport, before taking a taxi from there to PP. I assumed that it's cheaper to cab my way from there lor - but in the end, I still end up paying 16 bucks. OUCH! Should have just slept at home, but I kept failing to fuilfill my promises to them lar.. Bleh. Painful lesson! Ahahaha.. Anyway, the pool buffet from 12am to 6am cost us 25bucks for one pool table, which could be used to accomodate a total of 5 people. What's more it comes with a free drink per head! That makes up only one buck per hour and a free drink lor. Good offer man, although it's like at witching hours.

Tuesday, 21st August
Met up with my old friend Ryan for some catch-up before he leaves for San Frans on Thurs. Splurged quite a sum this day too.. We went to Jack's Place and I ordered the "Steak and Chicken" combo along with mango juice. Sniffy alright I think. Talked about how fuck-up our life is now and our future nonsense etc. Ahaha.. And how the rich fellows in our class is surviving now lor. Ahaha.. And we realised a pattern somehow - rich kids have no idea what their parent's business is all about! We were saying that it could be some mafia-linked business for all we know. HAhahaha.. After that, we go watch the "Bourne Ultimanum" movie at CS again. Darn good lar the movie, although I didnt watch the 2nd sequel. Anyway, he did a stupid thing, which is to watch this movie again lor. Ahahah.. Thanks man. Lol. Would have missed such a fantastic movie this year, if not for your reco. Hahaha..

"Thunder (A Tribute to Wayne Thunder)"
by Astroninja All-Stars

Levan (verse)
When you walked away
Nothing Left to say
Never thought the end would be so near

So runaway and hide
The pain you feel inside
Who ever thought the price would be so dear? And you say!

Inch (pre chorus)
Baby, please believe me
Oh please believe me,
When I say that I'll see you again
But now you have to go and I want you to know
This is goodbye, this is goodbye

Chorus (everyone)
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, fare thee well
Say goodbye

Zaki (verse)
Everyone you met
All the ones you had
Will never be the same without you here

Don (verse)
So f*ck all the cliches! We'll say them anyway
There'll never be a day we won't believe
And you say!

Pre-chorus
Chorus

Dong: (guitar solo)

May (bridge)
Don't let the words you say slip away
Don't let the words you say fade away

Chorus (everyone)

Levan (outtro)

Shark Attack!

Things ain't looking good for me lately, ever since the gates of Hell opened up on Monday. Argh. I actually dropped the damn laptop AGAIN lar.. But this time from a bigger height! Now, the whole monitor can't be switched on with all my MP logbook entries inside! Yes, it's stupid of me to not back it up with my thumbdrive or anything. Now, all I can do is pray that the hard drive ain't corrupted or what. Tried connecting it to a desktop monitor as well, but to no avail.. Was so damn frustrated about it that day. It was probably one of the days in my life where I used the most number of the word 'fuck' too. Hahahaha.. Tell me how suay can I be. Things were looking pretty good with the initial arrival of new column. But since then, everything just went wrong! Argh.

Update: Hoooray! My hard drive survived the fatal drop... The problem lies with the motherboard, so they gonna replace it when their stock arrives.. yes.. no stock. =.=" Anyway, heading to Toshiba data centre tomorrow to retrieve the data from my hard drive. Tomorrow will be siong man. Will have to rush my 2-page progress report fast! Diaoz. In mean time, I'm using my sister's new tablet laptop! Really like the handwriting recognition feature it has. Quite initutive wor... And fun too! - can draw piggies and others on MSN nicely...

National Day! Went out with Eileen and Ian to catch up with each other, although the others couldn't quite make it. But still.. It's the first meeting after Donald has passed away weeks ago.. Anyhoo, we went to Central at Clarke Quay and makan at the Manhattan Fish Market, which is famous for their platter set at their Plaza Singapura branch. Forgot what fishy stuff I ate, but we didn't ordered the platter. :'( Ian wanted to order a platter on top of our individual dishes lar - which is simply too enormous for anyone to handle. Ahahhaa.. Even the waiter got shocked lor. In the end, we just ordered an addition dish - some flaming prawns with butter I think. Taste damn freakin' good! Gooosh. I miss their food there.. *drools* Somemore it's much easier to eat those prawns than I thought it would be, with the thingies shelled. Hahaha.. The remainings head on the plate looked quite like cockroaches. Lol. Will remember to put up a photo here for you to judge! Ahahah.. Headed to Boat Quay in attempt to look for a perfect view to checkout the fireworks, but in the end we managed to catch the "tail" of the fireworks only.. Sian! Don't worry.. Can try again this weekend! After that, we went to Pan Pacific Hotel for Ian's introduction of Tiramisu (see image!). That poor Ian drank a bottle of Pierre's water at 7 bucks lar - *ouch!*, while Eileen drank FOC water! Ahahaha.. As for me, I tried their Shark Attack cocktail which was rather strong and sort of sweet too! Ahaha.. What I dislike about the drink is actually the blue stains it caused on my tounge! Gah. My entire face was flushing red lar after trying to chiong finish the drink. Zzz.. The Shark Attack has both dark and light rum, mango juice, blue curacao, vodka (if I'm not wrong) and others.. Forgot liao lar. But what attacted me was the mango juice actually. Lol. Love the atmosphere at the atrium with live performance by this Filipino (i think). I bet she was paid damn well lor.. Somemore after each of her break, she gets to grab whatever drinks she wanna from the bar. Powerr.. Ahahha.. Good day!

11th &12th August 2007
Head back to Johore to settle some Buddist ritual thing for my grandfather, since it has been 100 days after his death. And finally, my niece Hannah aka "Ah Lun" and her baby Ruike finally came to attend this thing, as she missed the other time when my grandfather passed away - she went to states instead to accompany that CEO of YCH (a logistics service provider) hur hur... What upset our family and relatives was that she didn't actually give any "bai jin" even though she couldn't make it on that funeral. What's more. She's freakin' rich now hur hur.. These sort of simple traditional thing I bet her hubby sure know de. Anyhoo, her husband even bought two apartments at the Sentosa Coves, in which the property prices have boomed so much that she claimed that someone made an offer that could earn her hubby instantly 2 million! But didn't accept the offer in the end, because they wanted to move in to there instead. So yes, that's how rich she is now. With this said, I find my cousins now rather arrogant in a way that they can simply afford anything lor. I bet their clothings etc from top to bottom are bought using his money. So this is what women can do - by all means, find marry a rich guy and get taken care of (don't wish to talk about this here - don't wanna lawsuits!). So that's how I spent my weekends lor. Go pray pray then that's it. *yawn* No time for me to actually touch on any work then. Sian.

It's all about ME!

Motivation is something I always lacked of in my life. Now look what you have done Ruben.. There's 2-months worth of MP logbook entries and another 8 SIP reflections to fill in! AHhh.. And there's a campus discussion next week! Gooosh. I'm sooo goner now. Luckily, there's finally a twist of fate where the light at the end of the tunnel is starting to become visible - with the arrival of my new carbohydrate column! Rock on babeh... No more crappy baseline. No more unknown peaks. The only problem now is how to get the results as soon as possible for campus discussion. So many things so little time. Come on Ruben! Chat less during working hours.. Ahahhaa.

Have been hanging out with the girls in AS4 recently more than my usual clique somehow.. It's been ages since I last played pool lor.. Anyhoo.. was at the Mind cafe in Boat Quy with Khad, Gen and Xue Fang last Saturday, after a BK dinner at Central. It's quite dumb that Central don't really have any Halal food lar, and not even their kopitiam has any Indian or Malay food! Sheeze. As a result, our options were narrowed down to BK or LJS only.. Gah! SOooo many nice Japanese restuarants.. There's even a Manhattan Fish Market branch there! I miss their platter man.. Heading back there later in the night to celebrate National Day with my friends.. Hahaha..

----------

PS: Do you even feel that it's like N'Day already? Look at the HDB flats! Very few people are actually putting up the national flags lar.. Thoes that were up are all put up by the town council one. Maybe that's how Singaporeans does a silent protest against the Government's policy like the increase of GST. LOL! Not much decorations this year I would say. If not, it could be just the fact that we are plain busy to observe the surrounding slowly anymore. Gah! Work sucks.

----------

It would have been a better experience with Mind Cafe during the weekdays, considering that it's less crowded and their service to us would have been much better. The staffs there are relatively busy during the entire night larr.. So it may appeared as if they don't really have the time in instructing us on how to play some of the new games etc. And I'll start mentioning about the female staff there who was damn bombastically helpful during my previous experience. *looks at the girls* Ahahaha.. Wanted to find that "Sitting Ducks" game lor, but couldn't seem to find it even after I went downstairs to find it twice! Booohooo..

The following Monday we went to Cineleisure after work to catch the movie "Disturia", which I would say I was abit reluctant to go initially. Hahaha.. Well.. The movie's not bad lar.. Good acting there by the transformer dude. And the chick in the movie is hot lar. Hahahaha.. I would be using the binoculars too, if I were him. Kekeke.. But certainly wouldn't be like him being too much of a stalker. Lol. The suspense of the movie is quite good I think, especially the part whereby he break into the serial killer's house to find his kidnapped mum. Anyhoo, just realised from Yuan Long that the movie was out in the states few months ago lar! Went to do my own digging and found that the DVD for the movie is coming out already in states. So diaoz lor. But it's rather smart for the film company to like show transformers first to expose the audience to the somewhat new actor before launching this particular movie, thus raking in more gross income. After the movie, we went on to makan ice-cream crepe at the basement there. The ice-cream taste good alright, but somehow I'm craving for the one in Marche instead.. *drools*

"Time After Time" by Quietdrive

Lying in my bed I hear the clock tick and think of you
Caught up in circles confusion is nothing new
You say go slow; I fall behind
The second hand unwinds

If you're lost you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you; I'll be waiting
Time after time

Time after time
Time after time

Sometimes you picture me I'm walking too far ahead
You're calling to me I can't hear just what you've said
You say go slow; I fall behind
The second hand unwinds

If you're lost you can look and you will find me
Time after time

If you fall I will catch you; I'll be waiting
Time after time

After my picture fades and darkness has turned to grey
Watching through windows, you're wondering if I'm ok
You say go slow; I fall behind
The drum beats out of time

If you're lost you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you I'll be waiting
Time after time

If you're lost you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall I will catch you I'll be waiting
(I'll always be waiting)
Time after time
Time after time
Time after time
