Life goes on...

Too many deaths this year. Just too much, especially with the latest tragedy in Singapore about the 5 dragonboat rowers. It's just not right and heartwretching to know that parents have to send off their beloved sons into elsewhere. Just earlier on my grandfather was telling how upset he was to attend his sister's daughter's funeral. Yes, another case of cancer that have taken her life away. He just couldn't understand why so many doctors in the world couldn't invent a cure for this sort of things, despite attempting to convince him about how difficult it easier for him to say than done. Before this year, I have never truly felt what it was like to lose a family member, a friend, or even a stranger. And now, I do. My heart cries whenever I think of the past.. Still can't believe the fact that cancer alone took away three of them.. Well.. Life still has to go on..

*sudden switch in tone*

Enchanted, A cartoon-to-reality fairytale story which my father was conned by my mother to go and watch with the family. Hahahhaa.. I feel kinda paiseh when leaving the theatres sia, seeing how many kids were leaving the theatre. But it was good movie I guess, if you still have a kid in you somewhere. Hahaha..

Another movie that I just watched yesterday at Vivocity was "Reprise", one of the featured award-winning movie in the Norwegian film festival. I simply love the humour the director has input in this movie. There was a part whereby Erik's mum found a porno pop-up on her PC and asked him how would he feel if that was her. It was like ewww lar! Hhahahaha.. And I love the Norwegian rock song they played during the movie - "Fingerpult av Gerhardsen" by Kommune. The title actually means "Fingerfucked by the Prime Minister"... Hahahaa.... Too bad I don't seem to find a link to download from anywhere.

Gah! And yes, it's a M18 show with sexual scene.. So don't get caught by your parents if you are intending to download it to watch. You always go for the other option and catch the last movie on Monday, 9.30pm at Vivocity. Although I myself never liked the idea of watching movie with subtitles, it's still a damn good movie to catch you know. 5 upon 5 stars for this moviee.. Since I didn't quite review or give a summary to this movie, here's a review by some fellow in the "world wide web"... Hahhahahaa....

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Best friends since childhood Erik (Espen Klouman Hoiner from "Just Bea") and Phillip (Anders Danielsen Lie) have been bursting with literary ambition ever since they discovered a shared passion as teens for the reclusive novelist Sten Egil Dahl (Sigmund Saeverud). Both send off novels in the opening sequence, and a voiceover describes fates that might have happened to them if both their books had been successes. But, only Phillip's book is accepted for publication and becomes a critical hit. However, excessive media attention and a near psychotic obsession he develops over his g.f. Kari (wide-eyed beauty Viktoria Winge) send him round the bend and into a mental hospital.

Once he's released, Phillip struggles to readjust to everyday living, and tries to take up again with a wary Kari. Sequence covering the couple's bittersweet vacation in Paris reps one of pic's most emotionally rich passages. Meanwhile, the less interesting Erik doggedly struggles to produce a publishable novel, fails to break up with his neglected g.f. Lillian (Silje Hagen), and hangs out with his and Phillip's circle of urbanista friends.

Final result, with its peculiar happy ending that may or may not be a further fantasy, may leave some auds feeling more drained than satisfied. It's a bit like spending 105 minutes with a litter of frisky, mischievous puppies.
