'Rawr' I Am!

Facebook is sooo over for me - no longer interested in their fluff pets and racing games. The only thing that I quite like about facebook is their photo albums that allow you to tag your friends into it. And oh great, I've just realised that I am being itemised and sold for $1412 in the latest transaction. Geeze. What's up with this man! Totally hate that sort of feeling of being an object with your friends. Hmm...

Talking about money, I seriously don't think I'm rich lar. I'm just a money-come-money-goes fellow from a middle-income family. That's why I hate it whenever friends ask me where do I live, which I'll always end up replying something like near Rivervale Mall or St. Anne's Church. Then they start saying those bloody block numbers which I have no idea of, although I have been living here for almost 9 years I think. It's the longest stay in my life I would say. Baaack to the topic, if whenever I reply say I live in a terrace, they will always reply back "wah.. rich kid sia" those sort of crap. Diaoz. Perhaps I have to think from perspective bah.. To some, I'm rich. But to me, I'm seriously not one since I've seen wayyy richer friends.. They live in bungalows, with their own private swimming pools and have swanky cars. Those are rich you know. But I believe that they will even be irritated after a while if you constantly using the term 'rich'. Hmm...

Yes, money is hard to come but you have to enjoy what you have earned. That's why I don't mind giving a treat or spending a little bit more to simply enjoy it with my friends. You have to got enjoy life man. But it's understandable that some have to support their family etc, but others are simply too uptight when it comes to money. I guess I'm single that's why I have this attitude bah, and have to go out to the working environment and strive on my own yet. In any case, I do know the importance of a saving accounts but will only contribute much to it when I start working bah. No matter what happens to your salary, you must always put some money there first before spending your remaining. This account will help you with the sudden surge of money needed like to cover your medical bills etc. When you're older, you can even start to consider having a retirement account, in which you put a fix amount of money and don't touch it at all time. Last but not last, one should seriously have the investment 'account', which would be your properties, stocks etc. And these are for long-term investments alright, and not for those who simply want to 'play' with the market - be careful that you might end up burning your fingers like my uncle did which he blew over 100k I think. Hahaha.. Abit over the top for this blog post, and I have no idea how I end up talking about money management. Wahah.. Three key words from this lesson - Savings, Retirement, Investment.

Nice simple dinner at Victory (or was it Zam Zam?) with the class. It's always a good thing that I have got the opportunity to meet up with them finally after the last day of paper. Haha.. Always didn't had the time to join pool with them - thanks to my driving. Hahaha.. Let's think about what to do the next time. I'm actually thinking of hitting the East Coast Park! Any takers? After that, we head to MOSD joined by Alex's friends whom some went to Taiwan as well. We were way faster than the others who took the car down to Clarke Quay from Bugis lar. Hhhahaa.. This seriously showed its pros and cons of driving in town and the effectiveness of bus. Rofl. Carpark space has always been a problem for many drivers. Free entry it was, but the drinks cost some money alright. Sorry for anyone who didn't want to spend money there initially. Gah! And I guess Shaun spent the most money there having to buy a pair of jeans to enter the club. Hahhaaa.. Sad to say that all left pretty early before the 12 o'clock striked.. Was kinda concerned about their last train actually, having to ask them every now and then. But in the end, they took cab home I think. Another money blower. Gah. But the deejay sucked to the core that night. I think I have way better songs than him seriously lor. Damn. I soo wanna learn to use that DJ mixer. Hahaha.. Supper at T3 followed, then home sweet home. Had only 3 hours of sleep before heading to Malaysia to do the "Qing Ming Jie" thing for my recent passed-away grandfather. Scorchy day it was. Luckily, my work at mum's office is only starting tomorrow - 1st of April. Gonna do some ISO certifiication filing thing for her. Just do what I'm told to do by the consultant hired. Gonna knock off this week early everyday at 2.30pm and rush my way to driving centre. The days of Serangoon Garden beginsss... *yawn*

Today's my first practical lesson in school, and I had to bug Xuefang about it yesterday like what to do, where to go and stuff. Thanks for tolerating such a newbie, and all the best for your upcoming practical test! The lesson was quite fun actually from the several stalling in beginning to the smooth drive around the circuit compound. Too bad I couldn't finish the subject 4 in time.. Gah! I really need to chiong man - the remaining weekdays of March will all be spent on driving all day long. I'm not sure if I can tahan a consecutive driving lessons totally up to 4 hours a day sia, with only 15min break in between the two. Shitz. Should have booked the one with 30min break. AHH... So now I'm on waiting list for those slots now - better hope I'm lucky enough! *crossfingers* Have to chiong until subject 20 so that I can do my booking for practical test, which seems to be fading further and further away. Zzz.. Soo totally hope that the NS enlistment date will be somewher in late July or something without clashing with my yet-to-be-booked practical test date. Argh. By the end of this month, I would have completed a total of 11 sessions! YAY. I wonder which subject I would be at by then.. *scratches head*

Sometimes I truly wonder if it's a blessing in disguise for being utterly forgetful. I just simply forget about the things here and there - the good and the bad. Like for instance during my Taiwan trip, I kept raising false alarm of losing my damn camera at least twice lar. I know I should be whalloped for making everyone panic here and there. LOL! Somehow I never check my damn jacket then. Kekeke.. Also, I even forgot that I had this boo-hoo incident with Kaijie last time lar, until Yuanlong reminded me (he reminded me alot of things wor). LOL! And paiseh to say that I forgot what's it all about again.. Zzz.. Can only remember calling KJ childish for sending me a message when he's sitting on the other table at Mensa. Rofl! Paiseh for revealing this.. Wahahhaa... You are indeed childish! (and so do I.) Oh yes... I even forget why I was so upset in the first place! Damn. It must be a blessing in disguise bah - to forget those unhappy incidents and do things like I have always been doing (kinda). I guess that's why I'm not really upset about this either for being such a short-lived memory kind of person, though sometimes I try really hard to recollect what happen in my primary and secondary school days which I didn't really took much photos. This pretty much explains why I took over 3+GB of photos in the trip bah. Hahhahaa...

With regards to the hoo-haa issue lately, all I can say is that time will change a person's character with the ups and downs of life. On the topic of friends, I personally feel that there isn't really a clear definition to it. Read the following excerpt I found, which is totally the same about how I feel too:

If I recall correctly, as a kid your definition of a friend is very black and white: Someone you play with.

And as a teenager it gets a bit more complex - A soul you can trust. A heart that accepts you. A person you care for. A fist that will fight for you. Two feet that will stand beside you when things get hairy.

But as an adult we muddy our definition of the word friend. It becomes elastic to include acquaintances. People who we simply share interests but may not care for in the least.

Maybe this is a good thing. We grow tolerant. Our hearts less exclusive. Maybe its the acknowledgment that life is a whole lot easier if we lay down our walls and be cool with one another.

Maybe its an acknowledgment that we had it right when we were children - simply now a friend is someone you share a drink with and maybe a joke.

I'd like to believe that, but...

A part of me holds that teenager's definition a little too dear - for example, it pisses me off how some throw around the word friend and then walk away the first time someone needs help.

That same part wants to revolt at how we market our 1,251 friends on My Space or look at our link ranks on Technorati... speaking of which... if you link to me.. are you my friend? If you don't... what does that say?

Well, then again, sometimes a link is just a link. A comment is just a comment. And it's expressions of reaching out that counts. One way, or another.

Go ponder over it for a few minutes. Hmmm.. it's time for me to do so too.. :)

I really don't get what's so nice about anime sia! And this time it has become one unique music video for Britney Spears's new single "Break The Ice". Gah! The song itself is gonna be a hit, but I'm kinda of doubtful that this MV is able to help penetrate the song into the world of MTV or Channel [V] etc. But I seriously can't imagine myself watching this over and over again - probably too anime-ish for me. Back to the music video, it shows apparently how Britney is trying to break away from her old image. So apparently, the guys in suits represents the industry that has become her into what she is now day. So yeaa.. she's trying to get away from them too - killing all of them, bombing their HQ blah blah blahh.. But the video kinda ended off with the words "To be continued..", which I suppose this means that one of her upcoming singles' will be animated too. Interesting eh. Maybe a reason for this is that she's kinda looney now to film a music video? LOL! Hope I don't get flamed by Britney fans out there.. After so many days of not-enough-sleep, I can finally have a good comfy sleep on my bed. Everything just happened too fast for me I guess. Just the day before was the killer exam that I left 35marks blank (talking about it makes my heart aches), the next was off I am in Taiwan. I wouldn't say I have enjoyed 100% of the trip, because most of the time I was a half-dead mummy walking around but it's sure fun doing the free-and-easy! Hahaha.. Will post on this soon with tons of photos!

Had a good Fish & Co. dinner with the class on the very last day at the Glasshouse branch, together with a quick session of boardgaming at Mind's Cafe in that area. Good hugs (and kisses) around here and there eh! I guess this would be the very last outing that we'll have whereby everyone attended, now that each and everyone else got to do their own thing for their future be it work or study. Three years past so damn fast alright. I still remember the stupid days when I tried to organise outings after another trying to put the different groups of people together.. Hahaa.. Pretty much resigned to fate after that. So now time will test who are simply the classmates or true friends... But those memories (good or bad) will for sure be kept in that puny brain of mine. Just hope I don't STM again and need someone else like Yuan Long to remind me of what exactly happened. Hahhaa..

So what did I do right after the Taiwan trip? Chill lar. Hahahhaa.. Watched "Step Up 2: The Streets" and "10,000BC" liao, which both movies premiere this week. If the plot-type of person, go and watch "10,000BC" since the whole movie started off with a story-telling and stuff although there's something fishy with geography and tribes. Lol. As for the "Step Up 2: The Streets", most people catch it is for their cool dance choreography that I would say is darn good. But I just dislike how they simply 'link' the previous Step Up by having the main lead actor in the first few minutes of the movie and call this a sequel to it. Diao.

And the IT show this year is uber pack I would say. So damn many people larrr.. Couldn't tahan after a while wor. It's all the same old thing, except for the new MacBook Air that would take your breath away (saw this in Taiwan liao). Other than that, there's really nothing new other than the usual offers and discounts when you really need something, which I don't! Argh. So sad that I didn't had the time to go to the Mosaic Music Festival... T.T I want to listen to all the funky bands.... Gah!
