More needs to be done.
Hmm.. I noticed that I'm becoming more involved in Singapore affairs, as I grow older. Perhpas you might just find myself in the Parliament in the future. Hahaa.. Anyway, I can't belive an international news channel - Al Jazeera English - actually highlighted the issue of poverty here in Singapore with regards to the soaring prices of food (see it here). This is the sister channel of 'Al Jazeera' which broadcasted Osama's video after the 9/11 incident, and even videos of beheading of Western hostages in Iraq. *gurps* Well. Looks like the PAP Government needs to do alot more in closing up the rich-and-poor gap, provided that they are even trying.. There's a whole of debate going on right now whether there should be a Jurong by-election, just see the Straits Times today one.
I was checking out ACS Echo online version today when they sent an ACS OBA email to my inbox. Psst.. OBA stands for Old Boy's Association... And guess what I found.. The OBA actually invited an opposition party leader Chiam See Tong as guest of Honour for the Founder's Day Dinner (see here)!

I mean I'm so used to seeing all the PAP Ministers coming over you know like Dr. Tony Tan etc - all the old ACS boys. So it's a rare sight indeed - apparently Chiam suffered stroke 2 weeks ago before attending this and even those meet-people session. Power to the man.
Now, everything has changed. The principal of Barker now is in-charge of International (Jarkata), vice leh is now principal for Junior. Discipline Master became Principal for Primary. Aiyar. alot of changes lar. 99% of the staff I know no longer works there sadly. Haiz. I hope I'll have the time to attend the opening of Time Capsule in 2010 - we actually placed out things in the Time Capsule when the Barker campus became ready in 2005. There's also another special capsule to be kept for 50 years at the famous clock tower! Damn. That day is soo going to come soon. Well.. 2 years of NS and that's it.
Oh yes, I just realised that my parents actually bought a land and build a bungalow in Brisbane for investment last time in 1999 with the intention of letting us use it one day if we planning to go study in Aussie. But because of the asian financial crisis then, they had to let go of it losing quite a bit to secure the company then. My younger brother might be joining me in Aussie 1 year later to study as well, so it wouldn't really be that boring and we'll most likely be sharing an apartment together or what then. Sounds good eh? But I now abit 'scared' in what sense that I had to be alone to go there and make new friends from sketch. And that sucks - hopefully I can drag my mum over for a week or something to settle the admin stuff etc first. I mean no friends to accompany along stinks lar. If you guys know of anyone going to UQ or UNSW (maybe this one) for study in 2010-2011, do let me know yeaa... Deeply appreciated.
And Singfest sold out for Sunday! Sian. Didn't went for it in the end. No more bloody Levis promotion - boohoo. And no company to go with for that day 2. Brother will only go if promo, but checked out Vivo outlet they say sold out le. Sian. All the good bands at one go. I guess I'll save up the money to buy a good mp3 player instead. Perhaps the new Zen X-Fi? Or should I wait until Comex convention coming next month? Gah. Wait and wait. Aiyar, time to sleep now. Peace out!
